Medical Massage

Medical Massage helps to release or alleviate specific pain and require specific treatment. A prescription from a Chiropractor or M.D. is required. I may use a variety of modalities or techniques during the treatment, but focus the treatment only on the specific areas of the body related to the diagnosis.  This enhances the body’s natural self-healing process and reduces the needed recovery time from injury. Insurance company may cover Medical Massage.

Myofascial Massage

imageMyofascial massage is a technique used to treat injuries and discomfort, reducing pain and increasing range of motion. Myofascial massage differs from other types of massage in that it targets the fascia - the membrane surrounding muscles - rather than the muscle itself. Since fascia completely encases every muscle in the body, imbalances in the fascia can have serious effects on your range of motion and comfort level. While other forms of massage can overlook the fascia, myofascial massage focuses specifically on releasing tension in this important membrane.

CranioSacral Therapy

CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle yet powerful technique that is effective in releasing neck pain, back pain, and mental stress (among other things). It does this by optimizing the movement of cerebrospinal fluid through the spine and around the skull. Developed by physician William Sutherland, this therapy provides a very soothing and relaxing healing experience.

Sports Massage

imageSports Massage is a specific massage that supports fitness, helps reduce the demands that the sport places on the body, increases the performance ability, and enhances or shortens recovery time. In fact most injuries occur because of muscular imbalance around the joint. We will focus on restoring and maintaining effective range of motion to empower the athlete to achieve their performance potential. My goal is to get the athlete healthy and back in action. We strongly suggest stretching to realign fibers and increase rang of motion. Also we strongly suggest stretching only the short tightened muscle
and strengthening the overstretched weakened muscle. Every session will take 90 min. (includes 20 min. of evaluation).

Swedish Massage

imageRelaxation Massage is the most common type, also referred to as Swedish massage. This is a lighter massage and is, as its name implies, meant for relaxing muscle tissue. It combines oils or lotion with an array of strokes such as rolling, kneading, and percussion to help the body improve its circulation.

Deep Tissue Massage

imageDeep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session.

Hot Stone Therapy

image
Hot Stone Massage
is a 90 minute appointment. This technique integrates massage and heated stones with warm organic oils. The warmth of the stones penetrates the superficial and deeper layers of muscles and creates a deep state of relaxation releasing stress and anxiety, detoxifying the body and balancing your nervous system. You will experience peacefulness and relaxation. Very good for clients with low body temperature.

Note: Add 30 min. for set up before session. No offer at in-home service. Call to make arragements.

Lymphatic Drainage

Lymphatic Drainage Therapy aims to gently and rhythmically move the lymph through the body, especially swollen areas of the body, relieving pressure and enhancing the functioning of the immune system. As both a preventative and remedial technique, LD can be used for a wide range of purposes including faster recovery from injury, reduction of swelling and discomfort from pregnancy, and strengthened resistance to illness.
